Sea Dogs and B-Mets Split Saturday Doubleheader
Portland, Maine - The Sea Dogs (13-24) and Binghamton Mets (14-20) split a Saturday afternoon doubleheader at Hadlock Field, with Portland taking game one 13-2 and Binghamton game two 7-3.

The Sea Dogs led wire to wire in game one.  Henry Ramos led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo homer off of Rainy Lara (L, 2-4) into the US Cellular Pavilion.  Later in the frame Rainel Rosario added an RBI single to extend the lead to 2-0.  Then two batters later with the bases loaded, Ali Solis hit a three-run triple to blow things open and put Portland ahead 5-0.

The Sea Dogs sent nine batters to the plate in the first inning.  Leading off the second, Ramos hit his second homer of the game to make it 6-0.  Portland added two more on a homer by Ali Solis in the third off of David Roseboom, and scored four more times in the sixth to make it 13-1.

Solis finished with a career-high 6 RBI, while Ramos notched the first multi-homer game for the Sea Dogs since Carlos Asuaje on 5/25/15 vs. Reading.

Teddy Stankiewicz (W, 1-2) went the full seven innings to earn his first career Double-A win.  Stankiewicz allowed two earned runs on six hits while walking one and striking out four.  It was the second straight complete game worked by a Sea Dogs starter after Haley accomplished the feat yesterday.

Binghamton took game two 7-3 behind a strong start from Tyler Pill (W, 3-3), who also worked a complete game.  Pill allowed three earned runs on six hits in seven innings, walking two and striking out one.

The Mets struck for the early lead with a two-out RBI single by Dominic Smith off of Mitch Atkins (L, 0-1) in the top of the first.  Smith later hit a two-run homer in the third off Atkins to stretch the lead to 3-0, and Kyle Johnson hit a solo shot off Nik Turley in the 5th to make it 4-0 Mets.

The Sea Dogs responded with an RBI single by Derek Miller and a two-run homer by Cole Sturgeon to cut the deficit to 4-3.  But Binghamton added three more runs in the sixth and pulled away with the 7-3 win.

Freiman Delivers Game-Winner in 1-0 Walk-Off Win
Justin Haley Wins with Complete Game One-Hitter
Portland, Maine - Nate Freiman lined an infield single off of Derrik Gibson's glove in the bottom of the seventh and the Sea Dogs (12-23) walked off with a 1-0 win over the Binghamton Mets (14-18) on Friday night at Hadlock Field.

The two teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader, but game two was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1:00 PM.

Justin Haley (W, 3-2) worked a complete game one-hitter for Portland, just the fourth complete game one-hitter in Sea Dogs history and the first complete game shutout for a Sea Dogs starter since Henry Owens on 6/20/14 vs. Altoona (also seven innings).  Haley walked three and struck out five.  Haley has now worked 18 consecutive scoreless innings for the Sea Dogs, who have also had three straight scoreless outings by starters (Wilkerson, Couch, Haley).

After back-to-back singles to lead off the seventh, Ryan Court laid down a sacrifice bunt to move both runners over.  Freiman followed with a hot shot to third off of Beck Wheeler (L, 0-1) that Gibson made a diving stab at, but couldn't corral, and Henry Ramos came in to score the game-winning run.  The Sea Dogs converted five sacrifice bunts in the game, including three by Jose Vinicio - the first time either has occurred in franchise history.

Andrew Barbosa worked 4.1 scoreless innings in the start for Binghamton and allowed two hits while walking three and striking out five.
