Bowdoin Softball Recognized For Work in the Classroom

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College softball team has been applauded for its work in the classroom in the 2014-15 academic year by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Coach Ryan Sullivan's team ranked 13th among 414 Division III programs with a 3.496 cumulative team GPA for 2014-15. Additionally, eight Polar Bears were singled out as NFCA Division III All-America Scholar Athletes.

Julia Geaumont (Saco, Maine), Katie Kaufman (Arlington, Va.), Nicole Nelson (Reading, Mass.), Natalie Edwards (Pasadena, Calif.), Ali Miller (Saint Paul, Minn.), Cielle Collins (New Castle, N.H.), Marisa O'Toole (Scarborough, Maine) and Siena Mitman (Mequon, Wis.) were tabbed for their individual efforts. In order to earn All-America Scholar-Athlete status an individual must meet a minimum 3.5 GPA for the 2014-15 academic year.

The Polar Bears finished the 2015 season with a 27-15 overall record, reaching the NESCAC Tournament for the fourth consecutive season.
