Ellsworth, Maine - The Grand, downtown Ellsworth’s historic 1938 art deco theater, is excited to announce the ONLY annual quiz show event about Ellsworth, Maine – “So You Think You Know Ellsworth?” to be held on Saturday, April 11th at 7 pm. Tickets for this fun and educational community event are only $10.
“The Second Annual So You Think You Know Ellsworth?” event brings back Dotty Small, captain of last year’s winning team The City Servants. They will go head to head with three other teams, with team captains Hancock County Sheriff Scott Kane and Ellsworth High School Alumnus Fred Ehrlenbach. The fourth team remains unknown at this time as its members will be selected from the audience. Anyone interested in a chance to appear on stage in the live quiz show can register at The Grand by calling the box office, commenting on The Grand’s Facebook page, or dropping their names in a jar right before the show begins.
The show features four rounds of four questions per team with questions developed by Darlene Springer, local Ellsworth Historian, who also serves as judge for the event. All questions will appear on screen as they are read by Stu Marckoon, Star 97.7 radio host who is the quiz show host. Teams have the opportunity to ask the audience for help, phone a friend, or ask for an alternate question – with a twist to be announced at the show. If you are a history buff or just want to learn more about Ellsworth, you won’t want to miss this fun-filled community event.
