Rockland, Maine -  Acclaimed folk singer-songwriters Jonathan Edwards and Cheryl Wheeler will appear in a double bill at the Strand Theatre, 345 Main Street, on Friday, May 8 at 7:30pm.

Four decades into a stellar career, folk singer/songwriter Jonathan Edwards delivers songs of passion, insight, and humor with his pure and powerful tenor. His repertoire includes such classics as “Honky Tonk Stardust Cowboy,” “Sometimes,” “One Day Closer,” “Don’t Cry Blue,” “Emma,”  “Everybody Knows Her,” “Athens County,” and the 1971 anthemic “Sunshine (Go Away Today),” the protest proclamation that resonated with thousands of young fans. Edwards has released 15 albums, including  the bluegrass “Blue Ridge,” and his collection of children’s songs, “Little Hands.”

Folk singer/songwriter Cheryl Wheeler is a natural storyteller with a beautiful voice; though her songs are often emotional portraits of people, her live concerts also include comic routines and serious discussions.
