“Notorious” returns to Camden Library Coffeehouse featuring guitarist Larry Unger and fiddler Eden MacAdam-Somer at 7:00 pm; admission is $8, and $7 for seniors & students. The performance features dazzling fiddlework on traditional American, Celtic, and Eastern-European tunes and songs, swing, blues, classical music, and the duo’s original compositions.

“Lawyers in Libraries,” noon to 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, will feature attorney Donald Briggs of Rockport. For Lawyers in Libraries Day, volunteer lawyers provide information on how to access civil legal resources and will be available for a Q&A and brief consultations with attendees.

Opening reception for artist Angela Anderson, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, including an Artist’s Talk at 3:00 pm. Anderson’s show, “Circus Paintings & Other Works,” will be on display throughout the month of May.

Dr. Alder Stone Fuller will present an illustrated talk on “Earth, Life, and Abrupt Climate Change: A Fresh Perspective from the System Sciences” 6:30 pm at the Camden Public Library.

Dr. Lowell Gerber presents “Is Dementia Preventable?” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, all are welcome. Gerber is a cardiologist and specialist in the physiology of exercise, nutrition, and metabolism.
Saturday, May 10
TLC Day in Camden Harbor Park and Amphitheatre. Join Dave Jackson for the annual spring cleanup, bring hand tools and gloves and meet in the Amphitheatre at 9:00 for a couple of hours of fun and volunteer work sprucing up the Park and Amphitheatre.
Monday, May 12
Michael Keating will present “Understanding Natural Sleep Rhythms and How They Affect Our Health” at the monthly Wellness Brown Bag Lunch, 12:00 noon at the Camden Public Library, co-sponsored by the library and PenBay Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Regular meeting of the Camden Philosophical Society, 4:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, all are welcome. The reading for this month is a selection from Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s Sense and Non-Sense: “The Battle Over Existentialism” and “The Metaphysical In Man.”
Camden Public Library hosts an “Introduction to Gardening” at 7:00 pm with Merryspring’s Garden Manager Cindy Gerry. This is a hands-on evening, including planting, cuttings, and tips on seed saving by Pam Manning.
Thursday, May 15
“Tick Talk” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. May is Lyme Disease Awareness month, and the Library will again host Lyme disease specialist Dr. Bea Szantyr, with an informative look at ticks, the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi which causes Lyme disease, the incidence of Lyme disease in Maine, the difficulties of medical diagnosis, and steps you can take to protect yourself and your family.
