Skowhegan CareerCenter to host Job Fair April 23

Skowhegan, Maine - The Skowhegan CareerCenter, located at 98 North Avenue, will host its Seasonal Job Fair on Thursday, April 23, from 3 to 6 p.m. The local hiring event can help job seekers whose search is in need of a boost and are you looking for a way to stand out to a potential employer. 

"Seasonal jobs are a good way to build skills and improve your career prospects," said Governor Paul R. LePage. "Our CareerCenter job fairs can help you connect with local businesses in need of a talented workforce. I encourage job seekers and those looking for a career change to visit their local Maine CareerCenter job fair."

The seasonal job fair includes the opportunity to meet and interact with businesses in the area that are hiring, networking with a variety of business professionals and Human Resource Managers, learn about and apply for current job openings, as well as professional who can help critique resumes.

Springborn Staffing Sunshine Pools Tractor Supply (Skowhegan) Walmart (Skowhegan) If you are looking for seasonal work, a permanent job or a second job, plan to attend this Job Fair. Businesses from Skowhegan and surrounding towns will have job openings that they are looking to fill.

CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O*Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are no cost.

The CareerCenter, located at 98 North Avenue, Suite 20, Skowhegan, is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
