Portland, Maine - As part of their programs for Money Smart Week, Portland Public Library offers the program - Be Money Smart When Making “Final Arrangements”. This program addresses the ultimate in advance planning – making our “final arrangements” in advance of our death. “Final arrangements” usually encompass the care and disposition of our remains, religious and/or secular rituals to mark our lives and deaths, and a range of practical financial and logistical matters. The more complete a plan we have in place, the less our survivors will need to address upon our death. The more thoughtfully created our plan is, the more “Money Smart” it is.
Join us to discuss how to be “Money Smart” about this form of advance planning. We will discuss how to create a plan that reflects your values and wishes, how to identify the costs associated with your plan, options for paying for your arrangements, and how to protect the cost of your plan from the impact of inflation.
