Annual worldwide event transforms metered parking spots into temporary public parks
Portland, Maine - Portland will celebrate PARK(ing) Day tomorrow at a variety of spots across the city. Always the third Friday in September, the annual worldwide event transforms metered parking spots into temporary public parks. The City of Portland's Planning Department will be participating in PARK(ing) Day by setting up a temporary bike corral, and planters courtesy of Skillins Greenhouses, at a space in front of Speckled Ax at 567 Congress Street. In total, 14 PARK(ing) Day spaces will be transformed by businesses and organizations.
