Augusta, Maine - The University of Maine at Augusta today announced that it has been designated a 2015 Military Friendly® School for the 5th year in a row.
The Military Friendly Schools list is compiled from a survey conducted by Victoria Media. Listed schools are in the top 15 percent of colleges that are doing the most to embrace military students, and dedicate resources to ensure their success in the classroom and after graduation.
The survey methodology uses data-driven ratings about post-military education and career opportunities at colleges that are approved for Post-9/11 GI Bill funding. The survey captures leading practices in supporting military students including, support on campus, percent of military students, flexibility for military students, veteran graduation rates, student tuition assistance, employment rates, and military spouse policies.
The schools are listed on the G.I. Jobs website which provides education and employment tools and resources to veterans.
UMA has been rated for its excellence in military services in the Military Friendly Lists since 2011. Similarly, UMA has been recognized by Military Times in the 2013 and 2014 Best for Vets Colleges lists, and by U.S. News and World Reports in the 2014 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans.
