“Breast Cancer” Talk October 6
Dr. Barbara MacDonald will give a talk on “Improving Breast Cancer Survivorship with Lifestyle Changes” at the Wellness Brown Bag Lunch on Monday, October 6, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The presentation is at 12:00 noon at the Camden Public Library. Her talk will inspire those who have had breast cancer and those who hope to prevent it. Dr. MacDonald is a licensed naturopathic doctor and co-author of The Breast Cancer Companion: a complementary care manual. MacDonald practices at Camden Whole Health. At this free lecture, you will learn about healthy food, beverage choices, exercise, and natural medicines that have been found to reduce the risk of breast cancer recurrence. The lecture is a reprise of her article called “Improving Breast Cancer Survivorship With Lifestyle Changes” published (8/14) in The Townsend Letter: The Examiner Of Alternative Medicine.
Dr. Barbara MacDonald is one of two local licensed naturopathic doctors practicing at Camden Whole Health. Dr. MacDonald will share the strategies breast cancer survivors can use to reduce their risk of recurrence based on her article in the Townsend Letter. Many of the same strategies used to prevent recurrence have been found to reduce the risk of getting cancer. If you, or someone you love, would like to learn more about how to reduce the risk of getting cancer or having it return, bring your questions to the Camden Library on Monday, October 6, at noon.
The Wellness series is co-sponsored by the library and PenBay Regional Chamber of Commerce.
