Warren Crash Claims Life of Blanche Foss

Warren, Maine - Just before 3 p.m. today, Knox County Deputies responded to a report of a two vehicle head-on crash on Rt. 1 in Warren, just south of the intersection of Rt. 90.  Warren Fire and Rescue were dispatched along with Thomaston and Waldoboro Ambulances.

Witnesses stated that a 2008 Jeep driven by Blanche Foss, 72, of Belfast was driving north on Rt. 1 and for an unknown reason crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into a 2005 Chevy truck operated by John Orne, 51, of
Edgecomb headed south.  Orne’s wife Cathy, 56, was a passenger.  A camper trailer was being pulled by the truck.

The Orne’s were transported to Miles Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Blanche Foss was transported to nearby “Odd Fellows Hall” parking lot to wait for Life-flight.  Shortly after Life-flight arrived, it was determined that Ms. Foss was deceased due to injuries sustained in the crash.

A portion of Rt. 1 was closed for approximately 2 hours to clear the scene.
