Lewiston, Maine - Mayor Robert E. Macdonald is happy to report that men who for the last decade have been seeking a haircut and shave in a traditional barber shop location in downtown Lewiston can now rest easy! The search has ended with the opening on April 18th of Major Barber Shop at 79 Chestnut Street, located on the side of the building occupied by Paul’s Clothing.
City officials and owner Didier Mulumba gathered this week to cut the ribbon on the new venture. Lewiston Mayor Robert Macdonald welcomed the new business noting “The shop is adding to the vitality of Lewiston and the diversity of retail and service offerings available downtown.”
Major Barber Shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday – Thursday; 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and will be closed on Sundays. Appointments are available by calling 784-1500.
