SEA DOGS WELCOME 8 MILLIONTH FAN

Jane Charron from Falmouth is the 8 Millionth Fan
Portland, Maine - The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, welcomed the 8 millionth fan in franchise history Wednesday night as the Sea Dogs hosted the New Britain Rock Cats at 5:00 PM.  Jane Charron from Falmouth, Maine was the lucky fan, who was attending the game with her family.
Charron was greeted at the turnstile by Sea Dogs' General Manager Geoff Iacuessa at 4:45 PM. Charron received a Sea Dogs prize package including a pair of Sea Dogs season tickets for the next eight years, eight rounds of golf at Nonesuch River, eight $25.00 gift cards to Salvage BBQ,
eight $25.00 gift cards to Hannaford, a #8 Sea Dogs jersey, and will get to throw out the ceremonial first-pitch a future Sea Dogs game.

General Manager Geoff Iacuessa as the 8 Millionth Fan.
The 2014 season is the 21st season of play for the Sea Dogs.  In the team's first season in 1994, the Sea Dogs established a new Eastern League record in attendance as 375,197 fans made their way to Hadlock Field.  Since that time the Sea Dogs have consistently drawn around 400,000 fans annually and rank among the attendance leaders in Double-A baseball.
Last season the Sea Dogs ranked fifth in attendance in the 12 team Eastern League, ninth out of the 30 Double-A teams, and 41st out of the 176 Minor League Baseball teams.
Attending a Sea Dogs game remains an affordable outing for families, with tickets ranging in price between $5 and $10.
Besides enjoying a fun and affordable atmosphere, fans have been fortunate to see many of today's Boston Red Sox stars develop including Xander Bogaerts, Clay Buchholz, Jon Lester, Will Middlebrooks, Dustin Pedroia, and others.  Additionally, fans have experienced the thrill of watching several Red Sox players rehab in Portland including John Lackey, David Ortiz, David Ross and others.
Tickets are available for all 2014 Sea Dogs' home games.  Tickets can be purchased by calling the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or order online at www.seadogs.com.
