York Gateway Farmers’ Market to Begin its 12th Season

York Gateway Farmers’ Market to Begin its 12th Season

The Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 12th season of the York (Gateway) Farmers’ Market kicking off on Saturday, June 7th. The market has come a long way from the 7-8 vendors we started with back in 2003. The 2014 Saturday Market will feature approximately 30 local vendors, including several who are founding members! Our Thursday market will begin its fourth season this year and it is steadily growing.

Thank you to our sponsor, When Pigs Fly! We sincerely appreciate their support; they have been participating in our market for years and this is their third year sponsoring.

The 2014 York Farmers' Market runs (rain or shine) every Saturday from June 7 through October 11 from 9:00am - 1:00pm and every Thursday from July 3 through August 28 from 9:00am - 1:00pm. The market takes place in the lot behind the Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce off Route 1 at 1 Stonewall Lane in York, Maine. Our food vendors offer fresh veggies & fruit, meats, dairy products, seafood, herbs, desserts, breads, pasta, oils & spices, prepared foods and more. Select craft products include lotions, soaps, wood goods, jewelry, candles and pottery.

Steph Oeser, market manager, says, “We're looking forward to the upcoming season! It's been a long winter and everyone - customers and vendors alike - seem anxious to kick off the summer season. I'm excited to welcome back a couple of vendors who haven't participated in a few years: the wildly popular Wrights Haven Farm (Ed the meat guy!) & Martha's Garden. Also, new to Saturday full-season, but not new to the markets: Churchill's Garden Center & Matt and Carol's Desserts. Completely new to the market: Top of the Hill Farm & Jimmy Milkman with milk from Harris Farm!
