THE DANCE HALL FEATURES WEEKEND OF MUSIC, SONG & DANCE

4th Friday Forum series features music of the Paris jazz age; Community Showcase features teaching artists & students

Kittery, Maine - He did it with just three fingers on his left hand. Django Reinhardt is credited with launching a new style of "hot" jazz guitar and gypsy jazz in the early part of the 20th century. Many guitarists emulated him. And during the latest 4TH FRIDAY FORUM, on Friday, April 25 at 7:30pm, The Dance Hall will present DJANGO (REINHARDT) UNLEASHED.

DJANGO (REINHARDT) UNLEASHED!, features the multi-talented instrumentalist Steve Roy and Taylor O'Donnell, a truly versatile and gifted singer, along with the Dance Hall house band, focusing on the blues and swinging jazz age of Paris in the 1930's , where Django Reinhardt reigned supreme with the "The Quintet of the Hot Club of France."

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door and can be purchased at www.thedancehallkittery.org or at RiverRun Bookstore,
Wallingford Square, Kittery.

And on Saturday, April 26 at 7pm a free Community Showcase will feature teaching artists and students strutting their stuff in an informal performance. Classes include tap, belly, hoop, West African dance and drum from The Dance Hall, and special guests from The Dance Annex in Kittery.
