Spring Foraging Workshop at Merryspring‏

Camden/Rockport, Maine - Naturalist and foraging expert Tom Seymour will lead a springtime edible wild plant workshop at Merryspring Nature Center on Saturday, May 3 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

This popular program will cover how to identify, when to search for, and how to prepare a wide variety of the season’s edible wild plants. After a colorful slideshow, guests will venture outside to the Merryspring grounds to look for and collect a bounty of edible springtime flora.

Seymour is a writer and naturalist based in Waldo. He is the author of multiple books including Wild Plants of Maine - A Useful Guide, Forager’s Notebook, Foraging New England, and many Falcon Guides on subjects as diverse as hiking, birding, and fishing in Maine.

This will be an outdoor lecture, so participants are reminded to wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing for this event. To best accommodate the group, the workshop has a limit of 20 people. The cost of the workshop is $5 for Merryspring members, and $10 for non-members. To sign up, please contact Merryspring at 236-2239 or info@merryspring.org.
