Local TV Personality Signs on as MC for Maine Artists Collective Star Gala at Akari

Portland ME - She probably helps you with your morning look at the weather and now Channel 8's  News 8 This Morning co-host Shannon Moss will be helping the Maine Artists Collective (MAC) at their Star Gala for Constellation Education Silent Art Auction Wednesday, November 14th from 5:30 to 8 pm at the Akari's a wellness, beauty and style center located at 193 Middle Street in downtown Portland.   The evening will include entertainment by a local jazz group, a no-host bar and appetizers in addition to a raffle.  

Moss is well known to local TV fans as she has worked at CH 8 since 2007 and at other TV stations since 1999.  She is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and got her break in the business in Wausau, Wisconsin but her love of New England brought her back home.  Moss lives in the greater Portland area with her husband and two sons.

"I'm glad to be able to help out", Moss said.  "I'm a big believer in the power of the arts to change our lives.  To be able to help raise funds that will help encourage artists to be more entrapranureal and to offer art workshops for youth is exciting."

MAC artists will donate work for the silent auction and gather items for a raffle. Funds raised will go to MAC's mission of  connecting the public with Maine artists and supporting development by providing exhibition and studio space, education, and professional workshops.
