Simon Chadbourne Named Little East Conference Rookie of the Week
GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore Simon Chadbourne (Westbrook, Maine) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies men’s basketball team has been named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week. Chadbourne’s most recent weekly accolade marks his second from the Little East Conference during the 2021-2022 season.
An offensive spark off of the bench for the Huskies, Chadbourne continued his hot shooting
averaging 12.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting a 64.7 percent from three-point range. Chadbourne finished the week 11-for-17 from three.
Against UMass Boston, Chadbourne was a red-hot 6-for-7 from three-point territory scoring a game-high 20 points while adding three rebounds and an assist. On the road at Western Connecticut, Chadbourne went 5-for-9 from three for 15 points and two rebounds in Southern Maine’s regular season finale.
Southern Maine hosts Castleton University tonight at Hill Gym (5:30 pm) in a first round play-in game for the 2022 Little East Conference Men’s Basketball Championship. The Huskies are the eighth seed in the Little East Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament Championship, while Castleton is the ninth seed.
