-Georgie Snow (Yarmouth Port, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth) broke the 0-0 tie when she sent a shot in from the point off a pass from Ally Stymiest (Moncton, NB/The Mount Academy).
-The Huskies maintained their 1-0 lead for the rest of the second period and for nine minutes of the third period, until a Southern Maine penalty left William Smith with an extra skater. Taking advantage of the power play, Lauren Jackson (Natick, Mass.) tied the game at one a piece.
-Tied at the end of regulation, the two teams headed into overtime. Despite the Herons outshooting the Huskies nine-to-four in the first overtime period, the score remained at 1-1.
-After another five and a half minutes of even play in the second overtime period, Faso sealed the deal for the Herons and scored to send them to the New England Hockey conference tournament semifinals.
