Knox County Sheriff's Office Responded To Car VS Golf Cart Washington Crash

Washington, Maine - Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash just after noon time today on Rt. 105 near Billings Rd. in Washington.  A female juvenile operator was driving a 2004 Subaru eastbound as she rounded a corner and saw a golf cart operated by Robert Stover, 79, of Appleton was in the road.  The golf cart had just left a driveway and was headed across the street to check the mailbox.  The operator of the Subaru could not stop in time and hit the golf cart, ejecting both operator and passenger, Judith Brann, 78 of Washington.  The Subaru travelled a short distance before it crossed over the road and struck a utility pole.

Stover and Brann were transported to Penobscot Bay Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The two people in the Subaru were not injured.

Both vehicles were a total loss.

Washington Fire and Union Ambulance also responded to the scene to assist.
