Camden Public Library Events June 23 through July 7

Thursday, June 23

The Pacific Crest Trail, an illustrated talk with Anne O’Regan, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Traveling through California, Oregon, and Washington, O’Regan completed her thru-hike in five months in Manning Park, Canada. Join us as Anne shares tales from the trail and offers a unique visual presentation gleaned from over 3,000 photographs taken along the way.


Friday, June 24

Friday tours of Camden resume, offered each Friday at 4:00 pm, hosted by the Camden Public Library and Camden Area Business Group. Tours begin on Atlantic Avenue at the library entrance; call the library to sign up at 236-3440.


Tuesday, June 28,

Leer y chalar Spanish discussion group, 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, all who are fluent in Spanish are welcome.

The Camden Philosophical Society will continue its Film, Lecture, and Discussion Series with a screening of “Singularity or Bust” by Raj Dye, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. This event is free and open to the public.


Thursday, June 30

Laurie Murray presents “Ekphrastic Prose and Poetry,” writing that is inspired from a visual work of art, be it a painting, photograph, or sculpture. 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.


Friday, July 1

Tours of Camden offered each Friday at 4:00 pm, hosted by the Camden Public Library and Camden Area Business Group. Tours begin on Atlantic Avenue at the library entrance; call the library to sign up at 236-3440.


Sunday, July 3

 “Smartphone Photo Management” offered at the Camden Public Library, 2:00 pm, as part of the regular Cyber Sunday technology support series, all are welcome, call the library at 236-3440 to sign up.


Tuesday, July 5

Art opening and reception for fabric artist Linda Shepard. Shepard’s work will be on display in the Camden Public Library’s Picker Room throughout July. Her exhibit “Animal Alchemy” features bold designs making use of the color, texture, and patterns in various fabrics to portray colorful creatures from the animal kingdom.


Wednesday, July 6

Midcoast Stroke Support Group, 10:00 am at the Camden Public Library, all are welcome.


Thursday, July 7

Free jazz concert with the Novel Jazz Septet, 7:00 pm in the Camden Amphitheatre, hosted by the Camden Public Library. Bring blankets or chairs for comfortable seating. The concert series is sponsored in part by the Reny Charitable Foundation.
