The Mondaynite Jazz Orchestra (aka MoJO) plays extraordinary modern and traditional big band music with a variety of other styles. The band will perform a free concert on Monday evening, July 11, at 6:30 in the Camden Amphitheatre. This 18-piece mid-coast based band knows how to throw a party. Relax, sing out or dance the evening away.
The band derives its name from their practice schedule: Monday nights, and they certainly have their mojo workin’. The members of the Monday Night Jazz orchestra include: Craig Ouellette – Musical Director, Trumpet; Doug Kennedy – Percussion; Ian McKenzie – Keyboards; Chris Sewall – Bass, Guitar; Glen Angel – Alto Sax; Phil Pelletier- Alto Sax; Ray Faria – Tenor Sax; Scott Kessel – Tenor Sax; Jake Faria – Bari Sax; Marcus Hutchins – bari/flute; Lou Pelletier – Trumpet, Vocals; Dave Wakely – Trumpet; Mark Lewis – Trumpet, Vocals; Silas Faria – Trombone; John Gass – Trombone; Patrick Munson – Trombone; Silvia Sayers – Trombone.
July 11 is a “double feature” evening. At sundown, the movie screen comes out and the library will show the first movie in the Monday Movie series, “The Spiderwick Chronicles,” beginning at 8:30. The MoJO Orchestra will also perform in the Amphitheatre on Monday evening, August 15.
