ORONO, Maine -- On Wednesday, Nov. 4, the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) announced that senior defensive end Trevor Bates and junior defensive tackle Patrick Ricard have each been named to the 2015 CFPA FCS Defensive Lineman Award Watch List.
Bates and Ricard were two of only 34 FCS defensive lineman named to
the list. All FCS players are eligible for awards at their respective
positions. The award winners will be announced Jan. 13, 2016.
Ricard and Bates currently rank number one and number two in the
Colonial Athletic Association in tackles for loss with 12.0 and 10.5,
respectively. Ricard ranks second on the team with 40 total tackles to
go along with 5.0 sacks, two pass breakups and sits second in the CAA in
forced fumbles with three.
Bates, who ranks third on the Black Bears with 39 tackles, has
totaled 5.0 sacks with a pass breakup and a fumble recovery in which he
returned 34-yards for a touchdown.
The Black Bears are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 7 when they host
