Hospice Cup Regatta Returns

Nearly a dozen hardy sailors will join Coastal Family Hospice Volunteers for the third annual Hospice Cup Regatta on Saturday, September 27th, from 1:00-3:00 PM on the Thomaston waterfront. Experienced and novice sailors will come together to support Coastal Family Hospice Volunteers and their mission by racing their single-handed laser boats in the beautiful harbor at Thomaston, the drainage of the Georges River.  Lasers are known as one of the most popular adult racing class in the world, and that is certainly the case here in midcoast Maine. While these intrepid sailors compete nearly all year, they will donate their entry fee for this one competition to the Coastal Family Hospice Volunteers program. The public is welcome to watch the races from 54 Water Street in Thomaston. Afterward, refreshments will be served for the racers and friends. A variety of chowders and soups, as well as bread, cider, coffee and sweets will be available, donated by Coastal Family Hospice Volunteers and local businesses. Come and cheer on the racers and show your support for Coastal Family Hospice Volunteers.

Coastal Family Hospice Volunteers is a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing hospice support to patients and their families who are facing death and dealing with loss in Knox and Lincoln Counties, including at the new Sussman Hospice House in Rockport. There is no cost for their services and they work closely with medical providers.  Support for the program is provided primarily through donations from members of our community.
