Simply Books! club meets monthly at the Camden Public Library on the fourth Saturday, at 2:00 pm. Open to everyone, simply bring along whatever book you’re currently reading and share it with the group.

The MidCoast Anthroposophical Society Group presents Glen Williamson in a one-man performance of “Beat the Devil! Faust, the Whole Story!” 3:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Tickets are $15 at HAVII, The Owl & Turtle Bookstore, and at the event.

Steve Gillette and Cindy Mangsen, longtime favorites at the Camden Library Coffeehouse, return to Camden for a single performance at the Coffeehouse at 7:00 pm. Admission is $8/$7 for seniors and students.

October Book Sale at the Camden Public Library, outdoors under the tents, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. To benefit the Camden Public Library.
Saturday, October 4
October Book Sale continues at the Camden Public Library, outdoors under the tents, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. To benefit the Camden Public Library. There will also be antiquarian books displayed for sale inside the library
Harbor Arts and Books Fair in Camden Harbor Park and Amphitheatre, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Fifty to sixty exhibitors will display their exquisite work in individual tents. The arts and crafts have been selected by a juried process so the quality is exceptional, varied, and delightful, in a variety of media, from ceramics and pottery to fiber art, glass, jewelry, painting, photography, and some unique categories.

Dr. Barbara MacDonald will give a talk on breast cancer at the monthly Wellness Brown Bag Lunch at the Camden Public Library, 12:00 noon, all are welcome.
Tuesday, October 7
Ed Muskie’s biographer, author Jim Witherell, will visit the Camden Public Library at 7:00 to give a presentation on Muskie and on his new book, Ed Muskie: Made in Maine. The book was recently published by Tillbury House Publishers of Thomaston.
Thursday, October 9
“My Money Works,” a free series on personal and family finances, begins at the Camden Public Library at 6:30 pm, and meets for four Thursdays. Learn to live on a budget, use credit wisely, set up a savings plan, and achieve your financial goals. Led by Linda Buckmaster of Maine Centers for Women, Work, and Community. Opening reception and gallery talk on “300 Years of American Quilts” by Janet Kelsey of the Camden-Rockport Historical Society. Reception at 6:00 and gallery talk at 7:00, on the history of quilts and care and keeping of old quilt treasures.
