Wolliker’s Waldoboro Whimsies, a monthly flea market and bazaar, will benefit the Waldoboro Fire Dept. during their sale on Sunday, August 31 at the VFW Hall in Waldoboro.

The benefit is a continued effort on behalf of Wolliker’s owner and participants to benefit their hometown community. Past beneficiaries included the Waldoborough Historical Society, the Waldoboro Women’s Club Scholarship Fund, and the Waldoboro Food Pantry. Benefits are based on a minimum $50 donation in addition to enhancements during the event, such as revenue from items sold by the non-profit at a table provided free of charge.

Non-profits are invited to contact Wolliker’s to become a monthly beneficiary.

“The non-profits we support on a are welcome to use our location to sell their own items, to distribute informational or fundraising literature, and to accept donations from the public,” said Wolliker’s owner Sally Lobkowicz, a Waldoboro resident.

Wolliker’s Waldoboro Whimsies is a venue that features a variety of craft, artistic, collectible items and more. “What we’re really looking for are unique, one of a kind, items that our shoppers won’t want to leave without,” Lobkowicz said. “We invite sellers to give us a call early to make reservations; we’ll have enough room for everyone, until we fill up.”

There is also food and beverage service at Wolliker’s.

Lobkowicz is excited that the indoor location at the VFW hall will mean the flea market and bazaar will be weather proof. “Now folks will have a fun place to check out even if it’s raining,” she said.

Wolliker’s Waldoboro Whimsies is open on the last Sunday of every month from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Waldoboro VFW Hall located on Mill Street between the Bremen Road (Rt. 32) and Jefferson Street.
