Belfast Cohousing & Ecovillage Founder To Speak at Merryspring.

Camden/Rockport, Maine - Sanna McKim will speak about the formation and mission of the Belfast Cohousing & Ecovillage on Tuesday, September 2 at 12:00 noon at Merryspring Nature Center.

In 2007, this new, environmentally minded way of building homes was launched in the Midcoast.  McKim will speak about how this small, community-based organization focused its efforts on sharing resources, food production, and energy efficiency to create a 36-home residential “social experiment” in world peace and sustainability right in Belfast.

Sanna McKim is the co-founder and former Project Manager of Belfast Cohousing & Ecovillage. Prior to this, she served as Executive Director for the Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility (MEBSR) and as Marketing & Admissions Director for the National Audubon Society Expedition Institute.

This presentation is part of the Summer Talk Series at Merryspring, co-sponsored by Camden National Bank and Jaret & Cohn Real-Estate. Admission to the Tuesday Talks is free to Merryspring members and children, with a nominal $5 fee for non-members.

Merryspring is a member-supported, non-profit nature education center and park located at the end of Conway Road just off Rt. 1 by the Hannaford shopping plaza in Camden. For more information, call Merryspring at 236-2239 or email info@merryspring.org.
