Living history re-enactors from the 20th Maine Company B will be camping in Camden’s Harbor Park and hosting a day-long program of mini-lectures, displays, military drill, and firing drill, as part of the Camden Public Library’s Civil War Series.

“The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex,” an illustrated lecture by Dick Cornelia, about the sinking of the Essex in the Pacific. 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, as part of Windjammer Festival. The true story of the Essex was the source of Melville’s Moby Dick.
Thursday, September 4
Author Paul Doiron of Camden presents the latest in his “Poacher’s Son” series, The Bone Orchard, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.
