Nature Drawing with Nancy Glassman‏

Camden/Rockport, Maine - Registration is still open for Nancy Glassman’s outdoor nature drawing course on three Thursdays, July 11, 18 and 25, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.  The course will cover all of the basics of drawing from nature, including emphasizing natural textures, hand-eye coordination, and learning to view nature as a subject. This course is an excellent opportunity for teens, art students, and adults to boost their portfolios while also experiencing drawing live from nature. Participants will work in various areas of the park -  gardens, meadows and woodlands.

With over 35 years of experience in art instruction, Glassman specializes in the connection between art and nature.  She is known for her gentle approach and encouraging manner, focusing on individual strengths, needs, and learning styles, as well as group dynamics and community.  Her first motto is, "Do no harm."

Pre-registration is required, and participants may sign up for one or all classes. The cost for each two-hour session is $15 for members, $20 for non-members, or $40/$50 to register for all three.  All classes will be held outside so participants should be prepared to wear weather-appropriate clothing, carry water bottles, and apply sunscreen and insect repellent as necessary. Participants must also provide their own art materials, including a sketchpad, graded pencils, erasers, and simple watercolors.

To sign up for this class or for any questions, please contact Merryspring at 236-2239 or info@merryspring.org.
