On Thursday March 7th at 6:30 PM in the Friends Community Room, Kate Braestrup will speak about war and peace and the paradigm shift that she sees happening in the way we fight wars, as evidenced by the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Kate Braestrup is a community minister, serves as Chaplain to the Maine Warden Service and is the author of Here If You Need Me, Marriage and Other Acts of Charity, and Beginner’s Grace: Bringing Prayer to Life. As Chaplain to the Maine Warden service, responsible for assisting families who loved ones are missing, Braestrup says, “A lot of the work I do is around death. I’ve been on the receiving end of the kind of care that I am offering.”
