Film: Sullivan’s Travels

Blue Hill, Maine - The Friends of the Blue Hill Public Library Film Series continues on Thursday February 14th at 7:00 PM with Sullivan’s Travels (1941), starring Joel McCrea and Veronica Lake, and directed by Preston Sturges.

A satire on Hollywood, the film is about a director who has made a string of shallow comedy films and wants to make an important dramatic film. He decides to go on the road as a hobo, to learn about the sorrows of humanity, and ends up having a rude awakening.

All films are shown free of charge on the Library’s “pretty big” screen in the Howard Room.  For more information, call the Library (374-5515) or Michael Donahue, 374-5248 or Donahue.mg@gmail.com.
