Applications Now Available For 2012 Sea Goddess Coronation

Rockland, Maine - Applications are now available to young women who would like to be apart of the 2012 Maine Lobster Festival Sea Goddess Pageant. This traditional highlight of each year's Lobster Festival takes place this year on Wednesday evening, Aug. 1.

Applications can be found atmainelobsterfestival.com. Click on the "Coronation" Link under Main Events, then click on the links for the application, checklist and guidelines. These may be downloaded and printed. Applications, along with supporting information, must be postmarked by April 15, but not before March 1.

The young woman chosen as Sea Goddess receives a $2,000 cash award and represents the Maine lobster fishing industry at a variety of events in Maine and across New England and throughout her one-year reign.

The Maine Sea Goddess Pageant is open to 20 ladies who meet the Maine Lobster Festival's guidelines, submit a completed application and mail to the: Maine Lobster Festival Coronation Committee P.O. Box 552 Rockland, ME 04841.

Applicants must be single, a high school (or equivalent GED) graduate, not more than 21 years of age and a Maine resident.

The 65th annual Maine Lobster Festival will be held on the Rockland waterfront Wednesday through Sunday, Aug. 1-5.
