Simon Chadbourne Named Little East Conference Rookie of the Week
GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore Simon Chadbourne (Westbrook, Maine) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies men’s basketball team has been named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week. Chadbourne’s most recent weekly accolade marks his second from the Little East Conference during the 2021-2022 season.

Southern Maine Earns Fourth Seed Will Host 2022 LEC Championship Quarterfinal

GORHAM, Maine - Closing the Little East Conference regular-season portion of its schedule with back-to-back wins, and three of its last four, the University of Southern Maine Huskies’ women’s basketball team has earned the fourth-seed for the upcoming Little East Conference Championship tournament, and the rights to a home quarterfinal game.
Southern Maine completed the LEC regular season with a record of 7-7, and was unable to play a full LEC schedule due to COVID-related scheduling challenges. It was determined by the LEC’s athletic directors earlier this season that all nine teams will play in the

The Huskies will host ninth-seed Castleton University Spartans on Monday, February 21 (5:30 pm) in a first-round play-in game. The winner of the 8/9 game will advance to play top-seed and 2022 LEC Regular Season Champion UMass Dartmouth (22-3, 14-2 LEC) on Tuesday, February 22.

But the identity of each child’s father could only be surmised or taken on faith, based on the credibility of the mother and her known male acquaintances. And so, the principle “pater semper incertus est” (the father is always uncertain) seemed an immutable law of nature. The advent of modern paternity science would eventually remove much of this uncertainty, of course, but not to the extent that most people probably assume. While it’s true that today’s science can identify a child’s biological father, the social, cultural, and political nature of paternity continues to challenge the notion of paternal certainty. This year’s event will be held over two days to accommodate COVID-19 Protocols.
The University of Maine at Augusta Dental Health Clinic is hosting its annual “Give Kids a Smile Day” in partnership with the American Dental Association over a two day period this year. The “Give Kids a Smile Day” will be held on February 11 and March 4 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm at the UMA Dental Hygiene Clinic located on UMA’s Bangor campus at 201 Texas Avenue in Bangor. The two-day event helps to ensure that the same number of children will be served while maintaining all necessary COVID-19 protocols. The UMA Dental Hygiene Clinic operates according to the American Dental Association and Maine CDC recommended safety requirements and precautions.
Children ages five to 18, who do not have a dentist, can schedule free dental appointments to get cleanings, exams, x-rays, fluoride treatments, and dental hygiene education. Students from UMA’s Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs will be providing care with the aid of staff dentists and faculty members from UMA’s Dental Health Programs.
