A member of the Knox-Lincoln County Beekeepers (KLCB) and Maine State Beekeepers (MSBA), Vermeulen
will be talking about the fascinating hobby of keeping honey bees alive and productive in Maine.  His presentation will include beekeeping start up equipment, the cast of characters in the hive, worker

bee tasks as they age, bees as pollinators, challenges to keeping bees in Maine and what we can all do to help keep these important insects thriving.  He has a 40 slide Power Point presentation prepared by Jane Dunstan, who manages 40 hives at her Garden Apiary at Ridge Mist in Newcastle.  Hopefully, Jane will be joining us for this presentation.
