Copper Animal Sculptures at Rockport Library

The attached image of G. Bion Richards' copper rooster is provided with permission to use.

Rockport, Maine -
Rockport resident G. Bion Richards will be exhibiting his copper sculptures of birds and salt water fish in the Marine Room of the Rockport Public Library during the months of March and April. All the copper work is made by hand with an anvil and a ball peen hammer, lots of pounding, and lots of heat. Richards says, "Winter is my favorite time for my work with crisp Maine air and a snowbank to cool the red hot copper.” Richards explains that the pieces were inspired by working on farms, attending the Windsor Fair, and observing Great Blue Heron and schools of ocean fish.
