Learn How to Attract More Butterflies and Hummingbirds to Your Garden

ROCKPORT, Maine -
The Rockport Public Library announces a new horticulture series in partnership with Merryspring Nature Center. In monthly talks from March through May, Merryspring Nature Center Program Director John Fromer (and Maine Master Gardener Volunteer) will offer free gardening classes at the Rockport Library covering a variety of topics and culminating in a special tour on Merryspring’s flower gardens in mid-June.

The series will kick off on Wednesday, Mar. 5, at 1 p.m. in the library’s lower level with a presentation entitled, “Perennials for Butterflies & Hummingbirds.” Fromer will cover specific varieties of plants, as well as how to arrange and grow them in a manner that supports butterfly and hummingbird populations.

More information about this and other programs in the horticulture series can be found at rockportlibrary.net.
