Peter Lammert started honey bee keeping over ten years ago after taking a Knox-Lincoln Beekeepers class at the extension office in Waldoboro. He has gone on to become one of the most noted beekeepers in the state, and a teacher of beekeeping classes in the Midcoast area.
He will be leading a hands-on class in the Camden Amphitheatre on Wednesday, May 17 at 2:00 pm and will speak about the basics of beekeeping. “Why you would want to keep bees, how much time you would spend, and what resources are locally available,” says Lammert. He will also discuss what the Knox-Lincoln Counties Beekeepers Association is and what they do to unify and educate local beekeepers and the public.
