Michael Dougherty outdueled Ben Ripley as the 2 pitchers battled in a 3-2 Georges Valley win over Rockland Cafe. Dougherty earned the win by allowing just a pair of unearned runs on 5 hits, striking out 13 and walking just 2.  Ripley allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, on 5 hits, struck out 11 and walked 3.

Georges Valley took the lead in the 3rd when Abe LeMole reached on error, stole second, moved to 3rd on a single by Dougherty and scored on a passed ball.

Rockland Cafe scored 2 in the top of the 6th when Zach Cody reached on an error, stole second and third, scoring on Ripley’s RBI single.  Ripley stole second, moved to third on Tim Farrelly’s single and scored on a throwing error after the single.

In the bottom of the 6th, Georges Valley bounced right back as Austin Pagano walked and stole second, Joey Curtis ripped a RBI double to tie the game at 2.  Matt Spear singled and Anthony Radzimirski walked to load the bases, followed by a walk to Maguire LeBlanc to bring home Curtis.

Rockland Cafe had a chance to tie the game in the 7th but a runner was tagged out at the plate to seal the victory.
