Written, Photos By: David Mills, Founder/EditorRockland, Maine - The Oceanside girls junior varsity and varsity basketball teams hosted Belfast High School on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 in Rockland, Maine. Oceanside earned two victories in the junior varsity game 46-17 and varsity 66-26.
In the junior varsity Oceanside played great game earning a first win of the afternoon. Scorers were Abby Veilleux sinks two three pointers for 6pts, Olivia Staples 2pts worth of foul shots, Anna Poisson 2pts, Kassidy Robinson 8pts, Jordan Brackett 8pts, 3pts from a three pointer and 3 foul shots, Myla Ferland 2pts from foul shots, Alexis Rytky 2pts, Elise Laslavic 8pts, Hope Butler 2pts and Hannah Mohalland 6pts with 2pts from foul shots.
Scorers for Belfast were Abby Flagg 2pts, Allison Defeo 2pts from foul shots, Alexia Sweet 5pts, 1pt
foul shot, Cassidy Clark 4pts, Madison Hemingway 2pts and Karagen Stone 2pts.
Before the varsity game Oceanside honored the seniors graduating this year. Those honored were Ari Curtis, Mary Allen, Kayln Grover, Makenna Brooks, Krissy McNichol and Brianna Dugan. Congratulations to Oceanside seniors may you all have a wonderful, bright futures.
In the varsity game Oceanside was able to earn the second win of the night. Scorers were Hope Butler 4pts, 2pts from foul shots, Elise Laslavic 6pts, Brianna Dugan 6pts, 2pts from foul shots, Gabby Simmons had 16pts, 6pts from two three pointers and 4 foul shots points, Alexis Mazurek 2pts worth of foul shots, Jenna Conant 2pts, Makenna Brooks 6pts, Haley Montgomery 10pts, 6pts from foul shots, Kayln Grover 4pts, Mary Allen with 2pts from foul shots and Ari Curtis with 5pts with 3pts being from a three pointer. They played a wonderful game.
Scorers for Belfast were Mariah Sturgis 12pts, 2pts from foul shots, Anna Simmons 11pts, 1pt from a foul shot, Macy Gale 1pt foul shot and Emma Mehuren 2pts.
