CineGrand Loves “Life Itself”!

Ellsworth, Maine - The Grand announces “Life Itself” as the next title in its CineGrand series of the best recent films, many of them Academy and Golden Globe Award-winners, screening on Tuesday, March 17th at 7:30 pm.  For more information on how you or your business can sponsor Grand films with a $200 donation, contact The Grand for more information. Ticket prices for CineGrand films are for general admission seating and are $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and students, and $5 for Grand members.

The film, a documentary from acclaimed director Steve James (“Hoop Dreams”) and executive
producers Martin Scorsese (“Goodfellas”, “The Departed”) and Steven Zaillian (“Moneyball”), recounts the inspiring and entertaining life of world-renowned film critic and social commentator, the late Roger Ebert, a story that is by turns personal, funny, painful, and transcendent. Based on his bestselling memoir of the same name, “Life Itself,” explores the legacy of Roger Ebert's life, from his Pulitzer Prize-winning film criticism at the Chicago Sun-Times to becoming one of the most influential cultural voices in America. The film includes candid reminiscences by Scorsese, Werner Herzog, fellow film critics such as A.O. Scott, and even Ebert himself.

So come see “Life Itself” at The Grand on Tuesday March 17th at 7:30 pm and see the film that Geoffrey O'Brien of The New York Times proclaims is “a wake at which intimate acquaintances warmly recall their departed friend in all his aspects, foibles and quirks along with his talents and triumphs.“
