“Tick Talk” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. May is Lyme Disease Awareness month, and the Library will again host Lyme disease specialist Dr. Bea Szantyr, with an informative look at ticks, the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi which causes Lyme disease, the incidence of Lyme disease in Maine, the difficulties of medical diagnosis, and steps you can take to protect yourself and your family.

Spring Book Sale, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, with gardening books, cookbooks, sailing books, DVDs and CDs, biographies, history books, how-to books, and plenty of fiction. The book sales benefit the library, and are run by library volunteers. Come support the library and pick up some book treasures!

“Vital Signs: A Citizen Science Initiative to Document Maine’s Biodiversity” will be presented at the Camden Public Library at 7:00 pm, led by Dee Kopesky and Hildy Ellis. Vital Signs is a program of the Gulf of Maine Research Institute that supports and encourages the gathering of data on native, non-native, and invasive species in coastal, freshwater, and upland zones in Maine

“Why Chomsky Matters,” a lecture by Richard Ogle, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, covering a range of Noam Chomsky’s scientific and philosophical ideas, and their relevance to current intellectual debate. Sponsored by the Camden Philosophical Society. Ogle has a PhD in Linguistics and studied for a year under Chomsky at MIT.
