Machias Area Job Fair March 27

*More than 40 employers will be hiring*

MACHIAS, Maine -The 2014 Machais Area Job Fair will be held on March 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Lee-Pellon Event Center. The fair is sponsored by the Machias CareerCenter, the Maine Department of Labor and Northern Maine Development Corporation.

"Maine's employers are hiring; our state gained 6,500 jobs in 2013," said Governor Paul R. LePage. "2014 promises continued growth with several job fairs scheduled around the state. Come out, meet employers and learn what Washington County has to offer if you are looking for a new job."

A GATEways to Employment Workshop will be held at the Machias CareerCenter that morning at 9 a.m. and will focus on preparing for the job fair.

Participating employers include: 4 Corners Supermarket, Acadian Seaplants, BBS Lobster Trap, Care & Comfort, Community Health & Counseling, Down East Community Hospital, EBS, Hannaford, HomeCare for Maine, Learning Works, Living Innovations, Maine Army National Guard, Maine Conservation Corps, Maine Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Child and Family Services, Maine Fair Trade Lobster, Maine State Police, Maine Veterans Home, Marshall Healthcare Facility, MAS Homecare of Maine, McDonald's, NAMI Maine, Neighbors Care Volunteer Center of Washington County, Northeast Safety, Inc., Pat's Pizza, Regional Medical Center at Lubec, Sequel Care of Maine, Sunrise County Economic Council, Sunrise Opportunities, The By Us Company, The Lane Construction Corp, UCP of Maine/Washington County Children's Program, the VA of Maine, Walmart, Washington County Community College and Wings for Children and Families, Inc.

CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O'Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are free of charge.
