The hike will explore the Meadow Brook Preserve in Swanville on Saturday, February 16 from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Ellen Skoczenski, Membership Coordinator for the Land Trust and Cloe Chunn of the Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition will lead the excursion via snowshoe or cross country ski to explore the 49 acres that lie between Oak Hill Road and the riparian wetlands along Meadow Brook, the primary tributary to Hurds Pond. Participants should be prepared for a challenging excursion, as the preserve is recovering from a significant timber harvest; there are no established trails and footing may be uneven. Extra layers and water are recommended. Please call ahead for directions to the meeting location.
