Disney Channel - Are you excited for the premiere of "Frenemies"? If you are than you don't have to wait any longer as "Frenemies" premiers tonight at 8pm on the Disney Channel. "Frenemies" stars Bella Thorne, Zendaya, Stefanie Scott, Mary Mouser and Nick Robinson. We are excited to see these young talented people do in this all new Disney Channel Original Movie.
"Frenemies" is about staying true to yourself, following your dreams, and celebrating friendship and family resonate in "Frenemies," premiering Friday, January 13 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel in the U.S., and on Disney Channels worldwide thereafter.
The first story follows the inseparable science-whiz Jake and his dog, Murray. Jake is excited to introduce Murray to his new science project partner, Julianne, but there's something about her that Murray just doesn't like – and the feeling is mutual. Julianne is using Jake in order to get a good grade on her science project, and Murray tries to expose her intentions before he loses Jake's friendship to this imposter.
The second story follows Avalon and Halley, best friends who are overjoyed when a publisher wants to turn their fashion blog, Geekly Chic into a magazine, but their friendship is put to the test when they learn that the magazine only wants one of them to stay on as senior editor. Their assignment is to each submit an article of their choice and the person who writes the best article gets the coveted position. When they both decide on writing about the same indie-rocker Jean-Frank, their friendship takes a turn for the worst as they vie for an interview with the rocker. Avalon and Halley both dream of being a senior editor at Burns publications, but ultimately need to decide if a job is worth the demise of their friendship, or if they should band together and take Geekly Chic to the top on their own.
In the last story, tomboy Savannah who comes from a large, high-energy family meets privileged, uptown girl Emma, who looks like her twin. The two girls become fast friends and decide to trade places for a while, but realize that life on the other side, although fun for a moment, isn't what it's cracked up to be. On top of that, their friendship is marred when Savannah's crush Jake and Emma's boyfriend Lance become tangled in their shenanigans. Eventually the girls realize the only way their friendship can be salvaged is by being themselves.
Starring are: Bella Thorne and Zendaya as Avalon Greene and Halley Brandon, Mary Mouser playing the roles of Savannah and Emma, Nick Robinson as Jake Logan, Stefanie Scott as Julianne, and Winston as Murray The Dog.
"Frenemies" was directed by Daisy Mayer ("The Guru"), executive produced by Leslie Morgenstein and Bob Levy (both of "The Vampire Diaries," "Gossip Girl") and written by Dava Savel ("That's So Raven," "Sonny with a Chance"), Wendy Weiner ("The Scientist") and Jim Krieg ("Den Brother," "Ben 10"). Shelley Mansell ("Camp Rock") is the movie's costume designer. A production of Alloy Entertainment and Coin Flip Productions, the movie was shot on location in Toronto, Canada.
