Fred Merritt, Father of Chris Merritt of Schooner Bay Taxi |
Rockland, ME - Fred Merritt, a beloved driver for Schooner Bay Taxi was in a serious car accident on December 9th, 2011, on his way to Portland. Since then Fred has been in the ICU at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine due to several injuries he received in the accident. The community in the Rockland area has really joined together to help the Merritt's through this tough time. There will be a benefit dinner January 28, 2012 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the American Legion Post 1 on Limerock Street in Rockland for Fred and family. Fred is currently the commander of this post. The American Legion has graciously donated the use of the hall for this event. There will be a potluck dinner, a bake sale, a small pool tournament, a silent auction, entertainment, face painting, and a 50/50 drawing.
Chris Merritt (Fred's son) asks if anybody would like to donate main dishes, appetizers, desserts, or things like plastic utensils, paper products etc to let him know at schoonerbayboss@aol.com. Any businesses wishing to donate any items for the silent auction can let me know at that email address as well. As many of you know, this is Chris's father. He thanks you for the out pouring of love and support as they go through these hard times! We truly do live on the best area!
We here at Rocky Coast News hopes you come for to this great benefit for Chris Merritt's father (Fred) on January 28, 2012, from 5 to 9pm at the American Legion Hall on Limerock street in Rockland, ME. A more in-depth report will be published on our site by the end of January.
