Field Hockey Races to 6-0 Win Against UMF



BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin field hockey team jumped out to quick four goal lead in the first quarter and never looked back en route to a 6-0 win over UMaine-Farmington on Tuesday.
 
The Polar Bears improve to 5-2 overall as the Beavers drop to 3-4.
 
Game Highlights

  • Bowdoin scored three goals in the span of just over a minute. Manveer Sandhu fired a shot from the top of the circle that was deflected by Bailey Prete for the game's first. Sandhu connected with Maya Malenfant for the second.
  • Faith Jennings had an unassisted tally to wrap up the quick scoring flurry.
  • With under five minutes remaining in the first quarter, Hanna Wurdack redirected a tip by Olivia Cunningham.
  • Less than a minute into the second quarter, Sophia Rosati fed Cunningham for another goal.
  • Rosati capped the game with a goal in the final ten minutes, driving in a corner direct from Aubrey Demurjian.

 
By the Numbers

  • Bowdoin took 14 penalty corners in the game and notched 25 shots.
  • The Polar Bears did not allow a shot.
  • Katelyn Rouleau started the game for UMF and made ten saves in the first half of action. Alicia Bridges made three stops in the second.
  • Julia Arsenault played 45 minutes in net and Delaney Bashaw closed out the last 15.
