Rockland, ME, March 16, 2020 – The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) will close to the public through April 30, 2020, in response to new guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control concerning the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
"CMCA respects the guidelines set by the CDC to protect the health and well-being of our community," said Suzette McAvoy, CMCA's Executive Director and Chief Curator. "We understand the impact of these measures and are ready to do our part to 'flatten the curve' of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the closure period, I urge everyone to explore the online resources, exhibitions and videos available 24/7 through our website cmcanow.org.”
Submissions to the CMCA 2020 Biennial supported by The VIA Agency will continue to be accepted online through 11:59pm on Friday, April 3, as scheduled. The spring exhibitions reception scheduled for Saturday, March 21 has been postponed to a later date. Throughout the coming weeks, CMCA staff will monitor email and provide assistance and updates as the situation requires.
