Community History Sharing Sessions

The Camden Public Library will host three community history-sharing sessions in November. Join us in the History Center on Monday mornings, November 6, 13, and 20, from 10:00 to 12:00. You are invited come to one or come to all and stay as long as you like. The library will provide a few relevant and intriguing photos to kick off the discussion, followed by a sharing of photos brought in by participants.

The theme for the first session on November 6 will be "Downtown Camden", focusing on the stores and businesses we remember from recent history.

The format will be informal, bring photos you have of Camden and share your stories and memories! We are hoping to see photos from Snow Bowl memories, trolley car memories, Lake City, Peyton Place, or swimming at Camden’s public beach, and whatever other memories and photos you may have. We will be joined by the Camden-Rockport Historical Society, which will be bringing photos and artifacts from its archive as well.

There will be an optional opportunity to record your memories for an oral history archive. The sessions will pause during the winter and resume in the spring.
