...WINTER STORM LIKELY TO AFFECT THE AREA MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY...

.LOW PRESSURE CURRENTLY OVER THE SOUTHEAST U.S. WILL TRACK NORTHEAST TOWARD NEW ENGLAND TODAY INTO TUESDAY. A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT PRECIPITATION TYPES ARE POSSIBLE AS THE STORM NEARS THE AREA. COLD AIR WILL BE IN PLACE IN THE LOWER LEVELS... BUT WARM AIR SURGING NORTHWARD AHEAD OF THE LOW MAY BE ENOUGH TO CHANGE
PRECIPITATION FROM SNOW TO SLEET OR EVEN FREEZING RAIN. IN

THERE ARE STILL A LOT OF VARIABLES THAT NEED WATCHING WHICH LEAD TO SIGNIFICANT UNCERTAINTY IN THE FORECAST FOR PRECIPITATION TYPE. AT THIS TIME... THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR 6 INCHES OR MORE OF SNOW AND SLEET WITHIN AND NEAR THE WATCH AREA... ALONG WITH LIGHT ICING.

...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING...

* HAZARD TYPES...SNOW...SLEET...AND FREEZING RAIN.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 5 TO 8 INCHES...ALONG
  WITH AROUND A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE.

* TIMING...PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN MONDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUE
  INTO TUESDAY.
