WATERVILLE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's soccer fell to Colby College 2-1 in overtime, on Tuesday night in non-conference action.

Kyle Douglas put the Mules on the board early in the second half, breaking the scoreless standoff, on an unassisted strike.

Maine Maritime's Ike Doiron (Wilton, Maine) capitalized on a penalty kick opportunity at 61:25, beating Colby's keeper Stanley Clarke, to tie the game at 1-1.

Despite heavy offensive pressure late in the second half the Mariners could not break the draw and the game went to overtime.

The Mules used a free-kick opportunity to create traffic in front of the net and Jefferey Lin snuck a goal past Maine Maritime's keeper Marshall Spear (Rockport, Maine) to give Colby the victory.
Spear ended the evening with 12 saves in the setback, while Clarke stopped three shots in the win for the Mules.

The Mariners fall to 4-5-1 overall, while the Mules improve to 3-4-2 overall. Maine Maritime returns to action on Saturday at Husson University for a 7:30 p.m. North Atlantic Conference showdown.
